I then traced around the original card to create this shape, adding seam allowances so that I could sew it onto the card.

Mixed media - black and white printed collage with hand embroidery. Like the concept of the viewer having to struggle to see the scooter image, with one image upside down to add to the confusion. Close up view Mono print, ripped scooter magazine with hand embroidery Feel that this image isn't strong enough although feel like this is the beginning of a new avenue to explore. I made a number of mono prints to experiment with, think the concept of adding the scooter article from a scootering magazine brings the link between the image and the scooter scene in general. Need to try this concept with machine embroidery. Hand embroidery on cotton fabric. Enjoyed creating this, strong use of colours and the distorted image provides a contemporary feel on an otherwise quite traditional medium.

Hole cut into card and the speedometer placed in. I decided to place the speedometer into the card rather than at the top to keep the original curved shape at the top. The overall shape reminds me of the front legshield part of a scooter.
